The dialogue Çavuşoğlu established with second-hand markets continues in her new production titled Double Exposure, which is included here. In this work, the paintings she produces using canvases with drawings belonging to anonymous painters, without erasing them completely but adding new images over, reveal an invisible collaboration. Here, Aslı does not approach the layers of the past as a practice of erasing or covering them, but as a way of co- existing through transformation. These paintings reflect a shared process that transcends the boundaries of individual production and intertwines with anonymous pasts, spreading over time. The traces left by previous owners remain, not erased completely, but no longer existing on their own, live on together with new imagery.
