Neriman Polat İstanbul, Türkei, 1968

Neriman Polat (b.1968, Istanbul) focuses on socio-political issues in her works. Critically analyzes phenomena such as gender, public space, urban transformation, and forms of power from a feminist perspective. In her productions, which explore personal and collective memory, she creates works that span the fields of photography, video, installation, text, and, more recently, ready-made textile materials with interventions. 

She completed her BA in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in the Painting Department. Her recent solo exhibitions includes: Groundless (Zilberman Berlin, 2025), Çatısız (Zilberman İstanbul, 2023), Mührü Kırmak: A Selection 1996–2019 (curators: Derya Yücel, Mahmut Wenda Koyuncu, Depo, İstanbul, 2019), Merciless (Merdiven Art Space, Istanbul, 2018), Threshold (Disambigua Art Space, Viterbo, Italy, 2015).
