Eşref Yıldırım at Festum Fluxorum 2.0 at Museum Schloss Moyland
Festum Fluxorum 2.0 – Messages from the Future, took place from October 24 – 26, 2025 at Museum Schloss Moyland. During the three-day programme, organised as part of the exhibition Marina Abramović & MAI in Dialogue with Joseph Beuys, Museum Schloss Moyland hosted a live homage to the original Festum Fluxorum Fluxus held in 1963 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. The programme brought together artists from the Marina Abramović Institute, the Borderland Residencies, former students of Joseph Beuys, and artists closely linked to the historical Fluxus movement.
Eşref Yıldırım presented his performance and installation Yağmuru Düğümlemek (Tying the Rain). Conceived as a continuation of the artist’s performance Camouflage, the work responds to the heavy rainfall on the final day of the performance Camouflage and to a personal loss. Working under the rain with long knitted strips suspended from tree branches, the artist engages in repetitive, time-slowing gestures that contrast with the uncontrollable flow of water, exploring the desire to momentarily suspend what cannot be held and transforming rain, memory, and endurance into a quiet bodily practice of resilience.
