Judith Raum contributes to Fruits with a Taste of Potato Dumplings: Anna Zemánková

Works by Judith Raum are included in Fruits with a Taste of Potato Dumplings: Anna Zemánková, on view at Gočár Gallery in Pardubice, Czech Republic, from June 21 to September 28, 2026. Curated by Natálie Drtinová and Pavel Liška, the exhibition presents a comprehensive survey of Czech artist Anna Zemánková (1908-1986), moving beyond her conventional classification as an art brut artist by placing her practice in dialogue with contemporary artistic positions.

In addition to exhibiting her work, Judith Raum contributes an in-depth essay on Zemánková's textile collages to the accompanying two-volume monograph, published in collaboration with ABCD Association and KANT Publishers. Drawing on her long-standing research into textile histories, Raum expands the exhibition's scholarly framework. In September 2026, her lecture performance Les Primes (2022), examining the French colonial influence on industrial fishing and agriculture in Senegal, will also be presented as part of the exhibition programme.
