Carlos Aires joins Méditerranée, Odyssées Contemporaines

Carlos Aires is featured in Méditerranée, Odyssées Contemporaines, presented at Fondation Villa Datris in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, France, from May 15 to November 1, 2026. Curated by Danièle Marcovici and Stéphane Baumet, the exhibition brings together 74 artists from 20 countries to explore the Mediterranean through the lenses of migration, cultural transmission, shared heritage, and contemporary geopolitical realities.

Considering the Mediterranean as both a physical territory and a shared space of memory and encounter, Méditerranée, Odyssées Contemporaines examines themes including climate change, migration, borders, exile, and solidarity through sculpture, installation, video, and multidisciplinary practices. Bringing together poetic and politically engaged perspectives, the exhibition reflects on the possibilities of coexistence, resilience, and hope across the region.
