Fatoş İrwen’s solo exhibition, Improper, has opened at Galerie Stadtpark, inviting visitors to engage with her thought-provoking work. Focusing on themes of justice, power structures, belief systems, and gender politics, İrwen uses a wide range of media, including painting, textile art, installation, photography, film, and performance.
Her art examines the relationship and dialectical tensions between the individual and society, revealing fluid transitions between reality and memory, as well as the unconscious and dream-like states. Additionally, İrwen explores the unstable and porous relationship between space and the body.
Improper will be on view at Galerie Stadtpark from October 18 to November 30, 2024.
