Aslı Çavuşoğlu took part in Everything Interesting Takes Place in the Dark, a conversation held as part of Istanbul Modern’s “Your Thursday” Artist Meetings programme. The event took place on October 1, 2026 at Istanbul Modern and focused on the concept of public space, taking as its starting point the artist’s work ANNEX, featured in the museum’s collection exhibition Beneath the Same Blue.
Exploring the relationships between history, memory, language and representation in her practice, Çavuşoğlu approached public space as a multilayered site where different histories, memories, social relations and individual experiences intersect. Drawing on works from different periods of her practice, she shared her research into forms of narrative, historiography and processes of representation.
