Eşref Yıldırım at the exhibition Forgetting the Past is a Gilded Lie

Karşı Sanat Çalışmaları hosted the exhibition Forgetting The Past Is A Glamorous Lie from December 15, 2022, to January 6, 2023. The exhibition took its title from a quote in Zabel Yesayan’s book Among the Ruins. This quote, combined with the Surp Kevork Church, which has a history of 1600 years, underlined the importance of memory.

The exhibition also developed a discourse on the necessity of social peace, which is positioned above politics. Curated by Deniz Özgültekin, the exhibition adopted a unifying approach while exploring the intersections of memory and peace.
