Azade Köker at Gala Modern
Organized in support of Istanbul Modern’s exhibition and education programs, Gala Modern 2025 brought together figures from the art and business worlds on the evening of Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The event was co-sponsored by Rhodium, Rolex’s representative in Istanbul, and Trio Deniz, the Turkey representative of Sanlorenzo. Acclaimed actor Salih Bademci hosted the gala for the third time. As part of the Gala Modern Benefit Auction, held under the direction of Maya Portakal Bitargil, artists including Rasim Aksan, Erol Akyavaş, Semiha Berksoy, Ali Kazma, Azade Köker, Renée Levi, İrfan Önürmen, Güneş Terkol, Antonis Donef, Thilo Heinzmann, and Danh Vo contributed works in support of the evening.
Azade Köker took part with her work Hexenorchester (Witches’ Orchestra). The artwork donated to support the museum's exhibition, education, and collection activities provided the highest support of the evening at a value of 6 million TL, becoming part of one of Turkey's most important institutional collections.
Gala Modern, which aims to provide sustainable support for contemporary art, brings together artists, collectors, and art institutions. The interest shown in the work during this special evening once again demonstrated both the confidence in the artist's practice and the value placed on contemporary art.
