Published by CUTT PRESS, this zine collection brings together works by artist İz Öztat and writer Çağla Özbek, united by their shared research into the literary motif of the Faustian pact. The release features Öztat’s Here and now, and after?, a puppet play script utilizing Kasperle and Karagöz traditions to explore artistic agency, alongside Özbek’s Counterdictions, a satirical closet drama examining the fraught labor dynamics between a cultural worker and the work of art.
The collection is grounded by an extended dialogue between Özbek and Öztat, chronicling their two-and-a-half-year journey tracing Faustian iterations and unpacking their respective artistic processes.
