All the elements in Machines and Gods share one thing in common—they were, at some point, cast aside. They arrive in the exhibition having fulfilled other purposes. Muñoz is drawn to the threshold between what we deem valuable and what we decide no longer has a place, questioning the origins of those criteria. His work allows him to ask what renders something important or beautiful, and why other things slip into irrelevance. He does not transform the objects; instead, he brings them into conversation within the same space, observing how they coexist. The industrial and the natural are the forces that shaped what appears here. The title reflects this idea: he has not fabricated these things, only arranged a provisional order that invites us to look again at what had been forgotten.
