Fatoş İrwen, Arter'de yer alan Gökyüzü Şekerdendi sergisinde
Fatoş İrwen is participating in the group exhibition titled The Sky Was Made of Candy, on view at Arter from June 24, 2026, to March 28, 2027. Curated by Selen Ansen, the exhibition brings together artists from different periods and geographies, exploring the sky not only as a physical phenomenon, but as a poetic and political image opening onto reflections on hope, vulnerability, transformation, and coexistence.
The exhibition features İrwen's work Untitled (from the Cracked Ground Series) (2019), produced between 2017 and 2020 during her imprisonment in Diyarbakır Prison. Composed of tea-stained paper fragments stitched together with the artist's own hair, the work constructs a powerful narrative on memory, endurance, and resilience. Through its fragile material language, it establishes a close dialogue with the exhibition's conceptual framework centered around hope, coexistence, and vulnerability.
