İz Öztat ve Pary El-Qalqili'nin sergisi How to Unlearn Obedience? (İtaatkarlığa dair öğretilenlerden nasıl kurtulabiliriz?) Galerie Nord Berlin'de
İz Öztat is featured in the exhibition titled Wie verlernen wir Gehorsam?, which took place at Galerie Nord - Studio | Galerie Nord in Berlin from May 10 to July 12, 2026.
Co-developed by Pary El-Qalqili and İz Öztat, the exhibition examines the influence of state control in German public schools and imagines an education beyond discipline and subjugation. El-Qalqili and Öztat draw from a German literary canon that has cultivated obedience as a virtue since the 19th century, was ideologically deepened in Nazi pedagogy, and continues to exert its influence in today's classrooms in modified forms. They closely examine the profound marks left by the culture of obedience, its mechanisms of punishment, surveillance, and control, and what this system demands from those subjected to it.
