Isaac Chong Wai at Play and Loop VII
The video documentation of Isaac Chong Wai's performance Falling Reversely (2021/2024) is featured in Play and Loop VII, on view at Blindspot Gallery, Hong Kong, from July 10 to August 15, 2026. The exhibition brings together recent video works by Isaac Chong Wai, Sin Wai Kin, Wang Tuo, and Zhang Xu Zhan, presenting diverse approaches to contemporary moving-image practice.
Through performance, docufiction, animation, and speculative storytelling, Play and Loop VII explores collective memory, systemic inequality, and the ways narratives shape our understanding of reality. Originally presented in the main exhibition of the 60th Venice Biennale, Chong Wai's Falling Reversely examines the body as a site of vulnerability, solidarity, and resistance, making a significant contribution to the exhibition's broader reflection on social experience and collective consciousness.
