Isaac Chong Wai at we gather at Bangkok Kunsthalle (28/02/2025)
Isaac Chong Wai participated in we gather with his work Rehearsal of the Futures: Police Training Exercises (2018). Curated by Rosalia Namsai Engchuan, the moving image program ran at Bangkok Kunsthalle from February 28 to April 27, 2025.
Chong Wai’s work transforms the brutal force of state bodies against citizen assemblies into a slow, uncannily beautiful choreography. Hits soften into gentle touches, and violent attacks shift into collective movements of entangled bodies, inviting viewers to reflect on footage of police violence and on the systemic failures that drive people apart under accelerated capitalism. The program will be presented as a single-screen continuous loop from Wednesday to Sunday, 14:00–20:00.
