Heba Y. Amin develops project in dialogue with Vincezo Valente (02/09/2025)
On September 2, 2025, the project Future image. Heba Y. Amin and Vincenzo Valente, the dream of the East was presented at Castello Risolo in Specchia (LE), Italy, the birthplace of artist Vincenzo Valente. Organized in collaboration with KORA Centro del Contemporaneo and RAMDOM, the project was among the 29 Italian initiatives selected under PAC2025 – Piano per l’Arte Contemporanea.
The year long research project and exhibition brings into dialogue the works of Heba Y. Amin—renowned for her critical, non-Eurocentric explorations of Orientalism—with those of 19th-century Salento painter Vincenzo Valente, who lived between Alexandria and Cairo. The opening event also featured a speech by Viviana Matrangola, Councillor for Culture of the Puglia Region.
