Isaac Chong Wai's solo exhibition carefully at Blindspot Gallery (16/09/2025)
Blindspot Gallery is hosting Isaac Chong Wai’s solo exhibition, carefully, from September 16 to November 1, 2025. Exploring the human condition through movement, time, and materiality, Chong investigates the performative qualities of objects and their relation to the body, opening up possibilities for world-making. carefully acknowledges precarity while embodying gestures of care and solidarity as ways of healing from trauma.
The new works continue themes from Chong’s video installation and performance Falling Reversely (2021/2024), presented at the 60th Venice Biennale, reflecting on fragility and resilience in the face of systemic violence. Drawing from his upbringing in colonial Hong Kong, Chong contemplates memory, identity, and the present through neon lights, glass sculptures, drawings, prints, and video.
During the opening reception on September 13, an artist talk featuring Isaac Chong Wai and Tobias Berger was held.
