Sim Chi Yin at the I Still Dream of Lost Vocabularies exhibition at Autograph London (10/10/2025)
Sim’s work is being featured in the group show in I Still Dream of Lost Vocabularies, a major group exhibition on view at Autograph, London, from October 10, 2025 to March 21, 2026. Curated by Bindi Vora, the exhibition explores how photography can be deconstructed and reassembled through collage, offering new ways of approaching complex histories and contested social realities.
With a lineage rooted in activism and artistic experimentation, photomontage is presented here as a tool of resistance and imagination. More than 90 works by 13 contemporary artists — spanning paper collage to generative AI — challenge the fragility of photographic “truth” and the archives that hold it. Through these practices, the exhibition asks whether constructed images can serve as counter-narratives when language falters, and how new visual vocabularies might emerge from fractured histories.
