Isaac Chong Wai at the Taipei Biennial 2025, Whispers on the Horizon (01/11/2025)

Isaac Chong Wai will participate in the 14th edition of the Taipei Biennial, Whispers on the Horizon, taking place at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum from November 1, 2025, to March 29, 2026. Curated by Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath, the Biennial brings together 54 artists from 35 cities, with 33 newly commissioned works and site-specific installations engaging deeply with the museum’s architecture and Taiwan’s layered histories.

The exhibition reflects on the notion of yearning—an unresolved force stretching across time, memory, and geography. It is explored through contemporary works in dialogue with early 20th-century Taiwanese paintings and artifacts from the National Palace Museum, weaving together personal narratives and collective histories of migration, displacement, and longing. The Biennial amplifies voices that interrogate identity, belonging, and the complexities of our shared futures.
