İz Öztat at the Berliner Programm Künstlerische Forschung Festival (02/11/2025)
İz Öztat took part in the inaugural edition of the Berliner Programm Künstlerische Forschung Festival, which brought together contributions developed within the program’s artistic research community across multiple venues in Berlin between November 2 – 7, 2025 .
As part of the festival, SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA hosted a screening on November 5, featuring two moving image works: Here and now, and after? by İz Öztat and The District by Mykola Ridnyi. Both artists employ performative strategies—puppetry in Öztat’s work and a time-traveling walk in Ridnyi’s—to explore the tensions between individual agency and systemic violence, repression, and war.
The screening was followed by a conversation with the artists, situating their practices within the festival’s wider focus on artistic research as a transformative, collectively held mode of inquiry.
