Carlos Aires at El Amor (no) Nos Destruirá at Hospedería Fonseca (25/04/2026)
On view from March to May 2026 at Hospedería Fonseca, El Amor (no) Nos Destruirá reflects on how love is reconfigured under the conditions of digital culture and post-capitalism. Taking its title from Joy Division’s 1980 song, the exhibition frames love not only as an intimate experience but also as a political and economic construct shaped by algorithms, market dynamics, and shifting social norms.
Drawing on concepts such as “emotional capitalism” and “frozen intimacies,” the exhibition further questions whether love can still operate as a space of resistance, opening up a layered discussion on the tensions between vulnerability, agency, and control.
