Sim Chi Yin featured in After the Monsoon: Art & War in Southeast Asia at National Gallery Singapore (22/03/2026)

On view from May 22 to October 18, 2026, at National Gallery Singapore, After the Monsoon: Art & War in Southeast Asia examines the entangled histories of war and artistic production across the region. Anchored in the legacies of the Second World War and the Vietnam War, the exhibition considers how art has functioned as a means of reflection, documentation, and healing in times of conflict.

Spanning multiple galleries, the exhibition offers a layered perspective on how the aftermath of conflict continues to shape artistic languages in Southeast Asia, positioning art as both witness and agent in the ongoing negotiation of history. Within this framework, Sim Chi Yin’s work contributes to a broader exploration of memory, violence, and historical narrative, engaging with the ways in which personal and collective histories are constructed and revisited.
