Simon Wachsmuth at the exhibition Open your minds at last! at the Center for Persecuted Arts in Solingen (11/06/2026)
Simon Wachsmuth takes part in the exhibition Open your minds at last! (Sperren Sie endlich Ihren Kopf auf!) — Dada as Political Art Between the World Wars at the Center for Persecuted Arts in Solingen, will run between May 9 and September 13,2026.
The art of the Dadaists is colorful, loud – and by no means uniform. They employed a wide variety of styles and produced literature, poetry, plays, paintings, prints, collages, and photographs. Yet, the political is a central common denominator, a thread running through the movement’s work and expressing itself in diverse and unexpected ways. On its 110th anniversary, Open your minds at last! celebrates the Dada art movement and demonstrates the continued relevance of its political engagement.
Accompanying the exhibition the exhibition is presenting Simon Wachsmuth’s video work From Heaven High (2025) as a contemporary intervention within the institution's literature collection. In addition, Simon Wachsmuth will join for an artist talk with Prof. Dr. Christian Berger on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
