Publication released for Isaac Chong Wai's Traces in Silence (30/06/2026)

A new publication has been released to accompany Isaac Chong Wai's 2025 solo exhibition Traces in Silence at Städtische Galerie Nordhorn, Germany. Published on the occasion of the exhibition, which followed Chong Wai's receipt of the 2024 Art Award of the City of Nordhorn, the book features essays by Antje-Britt Mählmann and Jens Asthoff.

Presented from 22 February to 11 May 2025, Traces in Silence brought together new works spanning performance, video, photography, painting, and installation. Exploring the tensions between collective and individual memory, historiography, and the traces left by social and political events, the exhibition expanded Chong Wai's ongoing investigation into the body, solidarity, and public space. The newly released publication serves as a lasting record of the project through extensive documentation and newly commissioned critical texts.
