Selçuk Artut’s research on Teoman Madra published as a book (23/08/2026)
Selçuk Artut’s new book Teoman Madra: Bende Sistem Yok / I Do Not Have A System has been published by Filika İnteraktif. Based on the Teoman Madra Archive, which Artut has been researching for approximately five years, the publication offers a comprehensive overview of the artist’s practice from the 1960s to the 2000s. The title Bende Sistem Yok (“I Do Not Have A System”) refers to Madra’s own words and reflects an approach to artistic production shaped by experimentation, spontaneity and a resistance to fixed systems.
Bringing together Madra’s experimental photographic works, Light Games, computer-based works and digital productions, the book traces his pioneering engagement with emerging technologies and his interest in chance, improvisation, repetition and generative processes. It also includes conversations with figures who knew and worked closely with Madra, offering further perspectives on his artistic practice and place within the history of multimedia art in Türkiye.
