Pedro Gómez-Egaña’s The Years of the Stone at MAMM (10/09/2026)
Pedro Gómez-Egaña’s solo exhibition The Years of the Stone opens at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín (MAMM) on September 10, 2026, curated by Cristina Vasco.
The exhibition explores the intersections between the domestic and the geological, drawing on the landscape of Antioquia and the industrial history of MAMM’s building, formerly a steel plant associated with coal mining. Bringing together questions of materiality, memory, transformation and preservation, Gómez-Egaña reflects on the ways in which environments, objects and histories are shaped by processes of change and decay.
The Years of the Stone is part of MAMM’s new exhibition cycle, which brings together four projects addressing memory, territories, bodies, sound and the ways we attempt to record, preserve and transmit our surroundings.
