Burçak Bingöl, Erinç Seymen, Walid Siti and Eşref Yıldırım at the Istanbul Biennial Public Program (16/11/2017)
Curated by Collective Çukurcuma founders Mine Kaplangı and Naz Cuguoğlu, the “House of Wisdom” exhibition took place at the IKSV Nejat Eczacıbaşı building as part of the Istanbul Biennial public program until November 12 after being shown in Berlin. The exhibition focused on censorship and aimed to look once again at the nature of books whose very existence is under threat from a philosophical, sociological and political perspective. The exhibition featured works from 38 artists and researchers including Burçak Bingöl, Erinç Seymen, Walid Siti and Eşref Yıldırım, and invited the viewer to once again contemplate the political power of books and libraries.
