Erinç Seymen at the Evliyagil Musem and Zilberman Gallery-İstanbul (16/11/2017)

The Evliyagil Musem, Ankara’s first private contemporary art museum, is hosting its first comprehensive exhibition following its opening exhibition. Curated by Derya Yücel, parallel to the Istanbul Biennial, the exhibition “Home” encompasses the works of 38 artists under the roof of the Evliyagil Museum, where it opened on September 7. Beyond its unifying power for the concepts of home, memory, self, individual, family, identity, it also provides the opportunity to research multilayered meanings within an inside and outside dialectic such as neighbor, neighborhood, society, environment, space, belonging, geography. The curatorial framework of the exhibition is based on a synthesis that explores intersections beyond the diversity of art and artistic production practices, common expressions beyond imaginary based on subjective interpretation, and formal dialogues beyond the multi-layeredness of conceptual contents. Erinç Seymen’s “Family Values II” (2016) work is on display at the exhibition, which can be visited until February 4.
