The group exhibition Statues Also Die / Anche le statue muoiono brings together three prestigious museums: the Museo Egizio, the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and the Musei Reali. The exhibition features Simon Wachsmuth’s series Signatures (Museo Egizio, March 9–September 9, 2018) and The Battle of Alexander (Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, closing date May 29, 2018). Curated by Irene Calderoni, Stefano de Martino, Paolo Del Vesco, Christian Greco, Enrica Pagella and Elisa Panero, Statues Also Die revolves around the topical issue of vulnerability and the systematic and intentional destruction of cultural heritage, whilst at the same time stressing the importance of its conservation and protection.
