Yaşam Şaşmazer the exhibition You Know Who at Abdülmecid Efendi Köşkü (02/11/2022)
Curated by Brigitte Pitarakis and Selen Ansen, the exhibition You Know Who will be on view at Abdülmecid Efendi Mansion between September 20 - December 11, 2022. Drawing on the Byzantine symbolic world of the supernatural and the unknown, the exhibition questions the representation of the unknown in contemporary art. The exhibition focuses on the fascination and uncanny of the unknown, and includes one of Yaşam Şaşmazer's works. Inspired by the historical and cultural heritage from Byzantium to the present day, the exhibition traces how forms, beliefs, and representations have survived, migrated, and transformed throughout history.
