Fatoş İrwen & Yaşam Şaşmazer at the exhibition I Am Nobody. Are You Nobody Too? at Meşher (02/11/2022)
The group exhibition I Am Nobody. Are You Nobody Too?, which is inspired by the ancient Greek myth of Echo and Narcissus and their unrequited loves, features nearly 120 works by 44 artists from both Turkey and abroad, including works of Fatoş İrwen and Yaşam Şaşmazer. The exhibition, curated by Selen Ansen, will be on display at Meşher until February 12, 2023. The exhibition interprets the themes of reflection, resonance, and metamorphosis that are highlighted by the myth in light of contemporary artistic and social dynamics. The exhibition, which takes its name from Emily Dickinson's poem of the same name, invites visitors to a space where relationships are woven between numerous you(s), me(s), desires, narratives, images, and experiences.
