Carlos Aires at Le Bel Ordinaire, Billère (30/01/2023)

Carlos Aires is featured in the exhibition A Red Dot in the Night, curated by Émilie Flory, which runs from December 14, 2022, to March 18, 2023. An exhibition that brings together the work of a core group of Spanish artists, A Red Dot in the Night speaks of the other, of the human fellow who lives or survives, transmits his knowledge, his rites, his cults; it is also the one who crosses the border at the risk of his life, as always for centuries, the one who peoples the world, who enriches us. The guest artists think about their world, get involved, point out what is dysfunctional, talk about colonizing pasts, and dictatorships, evoke forgotten communities, and unearth what history wants to sand down. The exhibition borrows the title from Bertrand Belin, this red dot in the night is the glow of a presence in the dark, the certainty that there is someone or someone in the distance; it is perhaps a bear, a mirage, a miracle. This red dot at night is also the hope and desire that return.
