Heba Amin's Nordhorn City Art Prize solo exhibition (18/03/2023)
From March 18 to May 7, 2023, The Städtische Galerie Nordhorn is showing a solo exhibition by the artist Heba Y. Amin, who was awarded the Nordhorn City Art Prize in 2022. Heba Y. Amin builds her work on research and derives speculative, sometimes satirical approaches from it. In this way she examines how "ideals" of progress were promoted by different technologies of colonization. In her ongoing investigations and artistic practice, she uses visual strategies to reflect on the violent and authoritarian structures of technology. The Last Witness comprises a series of works that question how such structures and technologies shape future narratives and seek to define them in many ways.
