Janet Bellotto's solo exhibition at Bewaerschole (09/07/2023)
Janet Bellotto’s solo exhibition One Point Five Below was on display between April 8 and May 7, 2023 as part of The Future Has Many Histories program, which was part of a two-year public art tour in Burgh-Haamstede.
Bellotto's work focuses on islands in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The images she creates focus on delicate ecologies and environments, and on the space between land, sky and water. The exhibited works are set in the precarious region that lies between the tangible ground and the infinite abyss; there a cyclic interplay between formation and immersion takes place.
