İz Öztat at the exhibition In the Inner Bark of Trees at Archive Berlin (30/07/2023)

From July 30 to August 27, İz Öztat's works were on display at the group show titled In the Inner Bark of Trees at Archive Berlin, as part of the In Time / On Ground project carried out by Çağla Özbek and Merve Elveren. Curated by a curatorial ensemble composed of Soukaina Aboulaoula, Mistura Allison, Chiara Figone, Paz Guevara, Beya Othmani, the exhibition took place at Archive Berlin.

In Time / On Ground explores archival elements that historically tend to gather in “other” or “miscellaneous” folders — materials that do not present immediately recognizable representations of watershed moments in the history of feminist movements. Öztat's works in the exhibition took shape in dialogue with Roza, a “Kurdish women’s periodical against racism and sexism”, launched in March 1996 and published bi-monthly for a total of seventeen issues over four years.
