Neriman Polat at 1st Turkish Textile Biennial (04/09/2023)

The Textile Biennial, organized by Nihat Özdal with the theme 'Slow fabric', offers a platform to explore the themes of slowness, touch and connection in textile art. The theme of the biennial is "Slow Down, Focus on Touch!" and the handcrafted and meticulously created works of the artists remind the audience of the power and meaning of textiles. The exhibition also emphasizes sustainable and ethical practices that reflect the values of the slow movement.

Neriman Polat's Flower Wound and Gülistan, a symbol of femicide, which she created in 2020 as a tribute to Gülistan Doku, who disappeared under suspicious circumstances and was never heard from again, can be seen at the International Textile Biennial of Turkey between September 4 and November 24.
