Sandra del Pilar at the exhibition Las imágenes fugitivas (30/11/2023)

The exhibition Las imágenes fugitivas inaugurated on November 30 at the Casa Chihuahua Cultural Heritage Center. Curated by Miguel Ángel Berumen, the exhibition tells us a narrative of visual experiences, with the documentation of old photography of the taking of the city of Juárez in 1911 and the intervention of 18 contemporary artists. This exhibition invites us to reflect on the orphanhood that a community can face in the absence of the memory provided by photographic images, which record the historical events that occurred in its territory. That was the case for several generations of residents of Ciudad Juárez after the triumph of the Mexican Revolution in May 1911. The combination of historical and contemporary images used in this exhibition aims to provide the visitor with a bridge that leads to the appropriation of their history as a personal inheritance in the broadest sense.
