Azade Köker at the exhibition Kadının adı var (14/05/2024)

The exhibition Kadınının Adı Var at G-art Gallery, from May 14 to June 30, features the works of İpek Duben, Azade Köker, Nancy Atakan, Suzy H. Levy, Dilara Akay, and Gönül Nuhoğlu. The exhibition investigates the role of tradition and modernity in defining female identity, gender-body stereotypes, family memories, and violence against women.

Azade Köker's works in the exhibition raise questions about illusion and reality, exploring themes such as the life cycle, rebirth, and the productivity of feminine energy. Köker investigates how a powerful feminine energy, responsible for the creation of the world and life, becomes lost in the social order and what causes it to become passive.
