The group exhibition The Myth of Normal: Chronic Contradictions puts the spotlight on fundamental questions concerning the relationship between the body and society. Against the backdrop of the UEFA EURO 2024 – an athletic event at which high-performance bodies compete – the show at Kunstverein Hannover presents artistic perspectives on the perception and reception of vulnerability, individual and collective trauma, in an exploration of pain, illness and therapy, healing practices and – ultimately – concepts of care and (re)distribution. 
 

From the May 8 to June 30, the Salzburger Kunstverein showcases The Myth of Normal: Chronic Contradictions a group exhibition, with the conceptualized in collaboration with Kunstverein Hannover - intricately paired with Kunstverein Hannover’s The Myth of Normal: Of Competing and Conceding, serving as its sororal twin in exploring the standards of “normalcy” in health and societal expectations inspired by the insights of Dr. Gabor Maté. 

The artworks The Nursery and Olympia (CER.810) by Itamar Gov is on display at the Salzburger Kunstverein during the exhibition.
