Yane Calovski in conversation with Monika Branicka at AdA Dresden (09/03/2025)
On March 9, 2025, the Archiv der Avantgarden (AdA) in Dresden hosted an artist talk featuring Yane Calovski in conversation with art historian and curator Monika Branicka. The discussion explored Calovski’s artistic practice and his collaboration with Hristina Ivanoska, focusing on their installation MAKEDONIUM: Dramaturgy of the Unfinished (2020–2024), presented in the exhibition Building Worlds: Visionary Architecture in the 20th Century.
The project examines the historical and political significance of the Makedonium monument in Kruševo, North Macedonia, reflecting on themes of resistance, identity, and collective memory. The event took place at the recently renovated AdA, known for its extensive collection of avant-garde art and archival materials.
