Heba Y. Amin has been awarded the Hans-Molfenter-Prize (05/04/2025)
The Hans-Molfenter-Prize, Stuttgart‘s city art prize, went to two artistic positions in the coming year, as the last award had to be suspended due to the pandemic. The awards went to Heba Y. Amin and the punk performance collective Horizontaler Gentransfer. This was decided by a jury of experts chaired by the head of the cultural office of the state capital of Stuttgart, Marc Gegenfurtner.
The Art Prize of the State Capital Stuttgart has been awarded since 1983 - initially every two years, since 1995 every three years - to artists who are connected to the city and the region and who have received recognition through an outstanding artistic work. The prize, endowed with 16,000 euros, is financed from the fortunes of the Stuttgart painter Hans Molfenter (1884–1979). The award is associated with a presentation at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart.
On the occasion of the awarding of the Hans-Molfenter-Prize 2025, the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart will host a presentation by Heba Y. Amin in the collection area between June 28, 2025 and April 12, 2026.
