Isaac Chong Wai and Itamar Gov at Kunstmuseum Magdeburg's 50th anniversary exhibition: Challenged Togetherness (14/06/2025)

Isaac Chong Wai is featured in Challenged Togetherness, a group exhibition at Kunstmuseum Magdeburg celebrating the museum’s 50th anniversary. Curated by Benedikt Johannes Seerieder, the exhibition is on view from June 14 to October 19, 2025. It brings together key works from the museum’s collection alongside compelling contributions by invited contemporary artists. Chong Wai presents his screen print series Crying People, addressing themes of vulnerability, solidarity, and shared emotion.

Challenged Togetherness traces Kunstmuseum Magdeburg’s fifty-year dialogue with art, society, and culture. From the state-controlled art policies of the GDR, through the democratic transformation of 1989, to the international art scene of today, the exhibition reflects on how art continues to engage with questions of coexistence and resilience.
