Fatoş İrwen at Us – 19 Fundamental Rights. 19 Artistic Positions exhibition the German Bundestag (22/05/2025)

Fatoş İrwen is participating in the exhibition Us – 19 Fundamental Rights. 19 Artistic Positions. One Dialogue Space, organised on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the German Basic Law. Initiated by the Art Council of the German Bundestag, the exhibition runs from May 22, 2025 to June 21, 2026 at the new Forum Kunst venue within the Bundestag. The opening took place on 21 May 2025 and was led by Bundestag President Julia Klöckner and curator Kristina Volke.

Nineteen artists were invited to respond to the fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution through a wide range of contemporary practices. A twentieth contribution was created through year-long workshops with children and young people, whose collective artworks also feature in the show. Us reflects on who we are and who we aspire to be—today and in the future—while offering space for personal stories and shared dialogue around freedom and dignity.
