Simon Wachsmuth at The Backside of the Treasure at Galerie im Körnerpark, Berlin (28/06/2025)
Simon Wachsmuth is participating in The Backside of the Treasure, a group exhibition at Galerie im Körnerpark, on view from June 28 to October 8, 2025. Curated by Chao Jiaxing with curatorial assistance from Ce Jian, the exhibition offers a critical reflection on the concept of the cabinet of curiosities and its relevance within contemporary art today.
The show engages with the historical shifts in systems of knowledge, the interplay between material and immaterial dimensions, and the visual and conceptual connections between past and present. A spatial parcours evoking infinite mirror reflections provides an epistemological space for the audience, introduced by a 3D-scanned model of Johann Melchior Dinglinger’s famed Throne of the Grand Mogul.
