On the occasion of Berlin Art Week, Zilberman | Berlin warmly invites you to join our exhibition tours with Misal Adnan Yıldız together with the unbecomings artists. The tours will be guided in English.

unbecomings is a poetic invitation, urging us to engage with radical feminist and queer thoughts tied to transition, transformation, alterly intelligences, and mutation. This exploration opens the door to discussions on 'unbecoming' – an untangling of living forms and societal expectations. It is about the joy of life, self-discovery, and the fluidity of gender. Most importantly, it is about our collective happiness, where gender and roles dissolve into shared experiences of being – unbound, unconfined, and unapologetically authentic.

Like a family tree, stars that connect us with ancestors or our darlings and dark-links, especially in a city, which offers so many looping experiences, grey zones, and roads to escape, these selected works join each other here where unbecomings defines our queer time, and open our space for reflection. Don’t they generously reveal the diverse ways in which bodies, their absences, sculptures, and narratives can unfold? They illustrate our connection to communities, which we shape from within over time with patience. These mostly soft sculptures - if not soft heartened- can represent community carers with gentle souls who dedicate themselves to the greater good, fostering collective consciousness and a shared, fluid life. They sculpt their communities from inside, gradually and in time, collectively… Like Sylvia Rivera, Boysan Yakar, or Muhsin Hendricks...
