Isaac Chong Wai at Life Rehearsals at Beijing Inside-Out Art Museum (14/10/2025)
Isaac Chong Wai participates in Life Rehearsals with his work The Horizon We Can Never Touch (2014). The exhibition, on view at Beijing Inside-Out Art Museum from 14 June to 19 October 2025, is curated by Na Rongkun under the artistic direction of Li Mu and Carol Yinghua Lu.
Life Rehearsals critically explores the shifting concepts of normality and difference shaped by social norms around autism spectrum disorder. Chong Wai’s work offers a poetic reflection on longing for an unattainable horizon and questions the mechanisms of self-discipline shaped by societal expectations. The exhibition brings together commissioned works by neurodivergent artists and responses from contemporary artists and collectives from China, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, and beyond, emphasizing diversity and shared human experience.
