Neriman Polat's workshop at Istanbul Modern (25/05/2025)
As part of Istanbul Modern’s Eco Art Lab program Neriman Polat led the “Collage Workshop from Recycled Fabrics” on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
In this workshop, participants explored themes of personal and collective memory through the collage technique, creating works centered around tulle as the main material. Using their own photographs and various materials, attendees engaged in a collaborative creative process, expressing individual narratives. Tulle was conceptualized as layers of memory, incorporating social issues that personally affected each participant. The workshop examined the impact of rapid changes in our lives on individuals within the context of power and authority, aiming to foster a collective creation through each participant’s unique form of expression.
