Selçuk Artut to present at the 2026 Association for Art History Annual Conference, University of Cambridge (08/04/2026)

Selçuk Artut presented at the Association for Art History Annual Conference 2026, taking place from April 8 – 10, 2026 at University of Cambridge. Organized in collaboration with the university’s Department of History of Art, the conference will be hosted across Churchill College, Murray Edwards College, and the Møller Institute.

Titled “Tradition in Code: From Geometry to Generativity,” Artut’s presentation explores the continuity between historical geometric practices and contemporary generative art. Through a practice-based approach rooted in creative coding, he examines how principles such as symmetry, repetition, and procedural structures re-emerge within algorithmic systems.

The paper highlights how generative art transforms technological innovation into a field of aesthetic inquiry, reaffirming the ongoing dialogue between art, mathematics, and computation.
