Yaşam Şaşmazer at The Promises of Monsters (01/03/2026)
Hara presents the group exhibition The Promises of Monsters, curated by Ezgi Hamzaçebi, on view from March 1 to July 26, 2026. Bringing together ten artists, the exhibition explores representations of bodies—human and non-human—positioned as “monstrous,” challenging fixed definitions of identity and form.
Working across sculpture, installation, photography, and video, the exhibited works approach bodies as fluid and indeterminate, suspended between states. Boundaries between human and non-human, animate and inanimate, natural and artificial, or visible and suppressed continuously shift and dissolve. Rather than framing monstrosity as deviation, the exhibition considers it as a site of potential, resistance, and alternative ways of being—an unstable threshold where layered temporalities and undefined futures emerge.
