The sound installation We Are Looking For Something To Burn, Or Something To Drown, Or Something To Roll Here by Zeynep Kayan, exhibited as part of her solo show Constructed at Zilberman Gallery—Istanbul from November 19 to December 31, is transformed into a performance as part of events related to the exhibition To Seminar that took place at BAK, Utrecht, Netherlands. To Seminar—an exhibition evolving over time through a series of performative and discursive public meetings—inquires into the practices of learning about, with, and through art today. It asks how we can move beyond the present-day ramifications of the so-called educational turn in contemporary art, toward a collective pursuit of learning with a real relation to social praxis. Conceptualized by Henk Slager, the exhibition can be seen at BAK, basis voor actuele kunst (Utrecht) until May 21.
